The University of Khartoum (U of K) the top institute of higher education in Sudan plays a focalrole not only in accumulating knowledge but also with the task of applying that knowledge for practical purposes. The dissemination of knowledge and findings to other research environments and the national priorities are natural elements of the University's research platform. The rich experiences with local, regional and international cooperation figured an intellectual basis for new and necessary multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research.Teaching and research are closely integrated in order to achieve this, first and foremost by giving them equal importance in the daily work of the academic and scientific staff and whenever possible basing the teaching on research.
